“The moment you accept responsibility for everything in your life is the moment you tap into the power to change anything in your life” – Hal Elrod
I pulled this quote from a book called Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod, one of my most life-changing books.
The idea I want to pull is also known as Extreme Ownership, an idea canned by former Navy SEAL Jocko Willink. It goes along with the idea that when you take responsibility, ownership of your life, you put yourself in the driver’s seat, allowing you to take charge of where you’re heading.
Too few people are strong-minded, willful. They allow others to take charge, decide the direction, of THEIR life. Now, its a bad way to live life. Side effects of this are people basing their emotions on their circumstances, and their life based on what is given to them. They remain stagnant in their poor, unfulfilled life. Man F that.
I want you to put on the pants, make the hard decision, and take control of your life. Do not be ruled by your circumstances. Be strong rule your circumstances, control what you can forget the rest. Be the leader you want to be.
Now, let me clarify, you don’t need to become a mean, hard-ass person, or a commanding douche no one likes. I’m saying is take control of what is yours. Don’t be limited by yourself, you deserve more.
If you are more interested in this, I highly recommend any books by Jocko Willink, Hal Elrod, or John Maxwell, all are incredible leaders, and have control of their life.
Get after it!
- “I control my emotions, not my circumstances”

- “I am only as free as my own discipline”
- “Be the person you want to be proud of”
- “I shall not worry about what I cannot control”
- “I am striving to beat a worthy goal”
- “I choose to live life without regrets”
- “I take responsibility of my life”
