“What man actually needs is not a tensionless state, but rather the striving and struggling for some goal worthy of him” – Victor Frankl
All too many people think that life is a work to eliminate the struggle itself. There are many who strive for this and settle with being complacent in comfort. What a defeating life.
Then there are some who seem to win the game, and it shows through things like material wealth, or early retirement. But then a funny thing happens when people achieve a goal they’ve set. They get bored.
Yes. Bored with success. I’m not lying or anything, it’s obvious looking at those overachievers who come out of retirement to start a new company or find something they care about to take up their days.
Life isn’t about freeing yourself from the struggle but finding one worthy of your time, one that you enjoy working for. Those with a mission in life seem to be steps ahead of the rest, so I encourage you to find out, what is a worthy goal for yourself?
It can be anything, but you have to have aggravated care toward it. Yes, I can always dedicate myself to blue-collar service, but I love to help others mentally. That’s something I care about, something I’m willing to go the extra mile for. Now, imagine if everyone found their personalized goal in life, we’d be a well-oiled country, on our way to ultimate success!
So, take some time and find a goal worthy of yourself!
- “I control my emotions, not my circumstances”
- “How I do anything is how I do everything”
- “I am only as free as my own discipline”
- “Be the person you want to be proud of”
- “I shall not worry about what I cannot control”
- “I am striving to beat a worthy goal”
